Flower is a bench with a slender center and petal-shaped seat reminiscent of a clover or stylized flower. It can comfortably accommodate three or more people, who can either communicate with each other, or stand apart and relax in solitude. Originally designed in 2001, Flower was first used at the 7th Istanbul Biennial. Since then, the bench has been produced repeatedly in small quantities for individual projects, enabling SANAA and Vitra to see that Flower was ready to be developed for larger-scale production.
